Continuing Web Work

The guys in the office (Programmers) were stoked that I was building web sites - What they didn’t tell me was the amount of effort required to get the site written - all products loaded - all affiliate links in place and then guess what - I had a functioning website with no visitors and no flow through - the site is www.legaids.com.

Back to Google Adwords - which by now I knew off by heart - Great - several campaigns up and running drawing around 25 - 30 Australian visitors to the site each day.  Some sales began coming through which was great - What I didn’t expect was the level of email enquiries I receive.  Now, if you have read my previous posts, you know that I know nothing about the content or product - I’m a regular 43 year old bloke who has no idea about Varicose Veins, Incontinence or Deep Vein Thrombosis - I now know a lot more than I did.

My problem is that the Google advertising is roughly matching the sales commission hence no real profit other than the learning experience.  What to do?  I began investigating the issues around the products and began writing articles on these issues.  I now have an “Expert Author” Status at Ezine articles so the links are building.  My goal is to get www.Legaids.com onto the front search page of Google - This is going to take some time.

As this has been a large time investment, and the site works I am continuing to look at ways of extending backlinks to raise the site in the Australian search engines as this is where my market is.  For those readers looking to do the same I came across a really cool free tool today - Go to Google and search for Blog Buzz - It pulls all relevant blogs for your Keywords - I have seen several similar programs which did not really work.  Using this tool on a keyword like Varicose Veins gave me 17 very relevant Blogs to post relevant comments into - And as I had already written a number of articles, I was able to use some of that content to post relevant comments to the subject matter - generally supporting medical evidence etc.

I am now up to 19 good quality back links and will continue the article marketing and blog posting until this number is considerable larger - I also played with Link Domination today which tells me the ratings and link numbers of the guys on Googles Australian search front page - I believe that another 50 qualified links to good ranking sites will get me there.

I am also aware of the longer term issues - The product range will always be required as the products relate to aging and Australia is an aging nation.  This site was never meant to be a get rich scheme, but more of an ongoing and rising income stream over the next 20 years - The long haul.

As always - Glad to see your comments re the above

Cheers - Mark
