A while ago I came across Squidoo and began building a page for wii-downloadreviews.com This was my first foray into building a site using a ClickBank product. The site is rough and I have yet to go back and do anything with it. Why? Well better things came my way and I have become a little dubious about ClickBank products in general. I will finish this site one day, but it’s at the end of my To Do list. During this time I found Squidoo and began building a page (Lens).
Time has moved on - I have built www.legaids.comin the meantime and have become a published author on Ezine Articles under the name of Gail Burton - You can find my articles at http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gail_Burton Each points back to www.legaids.com- Now while the traffic this work has generated is primarily off shore (from Australia) and LegAids is a site only shipping to Australia. So why go to all the effort you may ask.
There are really two answers.
1) To see how one publishes articles and the actual article response in the way of views and click throughs - So again testing the process.
2) The secondary benefit of gaining back-links to LegAids.com to increase the sites ranking
Next post I’ll try to include a screen shot of the stats as they are very interesting. This testing has also reduced my Alexa ranking down to 6,801,315 - I only have to drop this ranking down by another 6.5 million and I’ll be around the front page. Over the past month it has dropped around 1.5 million.
Wow - How to get off track - Now back to Squidoo. This is another testing ground of mine - WallCann has a number of Ebooks that affiliates can sell - I have tried my hand at this using Squidoo. I have built 3 new pages (Lens’s) around the themes of Halloween in the 1920’s - See www.squidoo.com/1920sHalloween and Finger Wave Hairstyles of the 1920’s at http://www.squidoo.com/FingerWaving. I am currently writting one about my day to day role (It’ll be finished tomorrow) at http://www.squidoo.com/emailproductivity
The reason for testing this is that you can use straight affiliate links in Squidoo, where you cannot with Ezine Articles. In other words, Squidoo points directly to WallCanns Ebook store with my affilliate link - I don’t need to build a separate recommendation site. As the numbers of my Squidoo lens’s grows so does my knowledge of how their system works - It can get a little complex but worth while.
Another point about Squidoo is that if your Lens attracts traffic, you (or a charity of your choice) gets paid by along side advertising. There are some people earning good money just be writing Squidoo Lens’s - By the way - there is no cost at all and it can be a lot of fun. Affiliates should include this marketing platform in their traffic / ranking mix. While it’s too early to say how this is going, I will update my Blog when there is more to say.

Again - To be successful in online marketing you need to take control and test these things yourself - Please don’t be fooled by the Ebook offers from those Internet marketing Gurus who only market to wannabe Internet marketing gurus - you won’t learn, it’s very much the “Teach a man to Fish” type of scenario
